Elizabeth “Betsy” Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Expressive Arts Therapist. She has provided individual and group therapy for more than four years, and has more than 20 years of experience working alongside people to facilitate positive change in their lives and their communities. Betsy’s current practice focuses on supporting adults and teens navigating grief and loss, trauma, anticipatory loss, and life transitions, and corresponding changes in identity and relationships.  Betsy’s style of therapy is informal, compassionate, and responsive to each person’s unique needs. She will guide you to explore your concerns and build greater understanding of the different aspects of your experience, from the emotional, mental, and physical to the family, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. Using a variety of evidence-based techniques, she will help you re-connect to existing strengths and cultivate additional resources that support progress toward the changes you wish to make. Betsy’s practice is grounded in person-centered, developmental, and relational-cultural theories, and she frequently uses mindfulness, body-centered, and creative interventions. Betsy considers cultural humility essential to therapeutic practice.

Betsy’s therapy setting is handicapped accessible and has a private entrance to the center where therapy takes place. An initial visit will be a collaborative experience of sharing information, identifying goals, and building trust. Betsy wants you to feel safe, seen, heard, and empowered as you move through the natural process of finding meaning, healing, and hope. She looks forward to connecting with you.
