Blayre has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011. After graduate school, Blayre worked for Hanover County providing mental health treatment and case management services to children, adults, and families. Blayre served as the Adult and Family Outreach Services Manager at Full Circle and has led support groups at Full Circle since 2013. Blayre has also worked for Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now).

Blayre has experience working with a variety of issues, including grief and loss, trauma, and adjustment/life changes and has experience collaborating with professionals on multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Blayre utilizes psychodynamic and family systems theories to guide her practice. Blayre believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship. She genuinely values the importance of building rapport with clients and supports clients finding a therapist they feel is a good fit for them based on their individual treatment needs and goals. Blayre believes in the inherent resilience of the human spirit and embraces a strengths-based lens when working with individuals who have experienced grief and loss as well as other challenges and stressors. She hopes to help you engage and enhance your capacity for introspection, reflection, and self-awareness to better understand and navigate your past, present, and future allowing you to feel empowered and hopeful in spite of grief, loss, and hardships. She also hopes to support you in finding purpose and joy while witnessing your grief and finding ways to honor the memory of your loved one. 

Blayre promotes and embraces the practice of mindfulness and gratitude, the value of human connection, and the importance of finding meaning in one’s life. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, being outside, volunteering and spending time with her family.
