Since 1996, Britt has professionally enjoyed providing counseling and case management services to children, adults and families in the school, home and community agency settings. She has collaborated and served on multiple interdisciplinary teams, and supervised other counselors in the mental health field. Britt found her love in group work early on in her career and has facilitated children and adult groups for over 28 years to include those specializing in grief and loss.
Britt began as a group facilitator with Full Circle in 2009 and currently acts as Full Circle’s Grief Services Director, overseeing the clinical services of Full Circle’s individual counseling practice to include supervising other grief therapists and interns, speaking with inquiries and community professionals about all things Full Circle and providing grief psychoeducation to the Richmond community at large.
Britt’s professional love is providing therapeutic grief support to individuals at Full Circle. She believes in the resiliency of the human spirit and educates to all that grief and loss is a normal part of the life experience. Britt’s passion is to accompany people alongside their grief to help them navigate their own unique journey and a healthy path forward. She knows self compassion and personal care are paramount to an individual’s healing and strong coping. She provides a safe therapeutic environment conducive to growth whose style is person centered and unique to the individual’s needs to include a trauma informed approach, utilizing body based interventions, mindfulness and meditation, as well as cultivating continuing connections to loved ones.
Britt enjoys and appreciates the restorative power of nature, movement, music, creativity, and connection. She is a big believer in laughing, deep breathing, being in the present with family and friends, going on adventures both big and small, and making time for all things cute and cuddly.
