Jeremy Winslow, LCSW (he/him) earned a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021. During that time, he interned at James River Hospice, providing therapy to hospice patients or their partners as they worked through the grieving process. His second internship was at Safe Harbor and led to four years of postgrad employment where he provided therapy to survivors of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking.
Jeremy has experience providing therapy for grief and loss, trauma and complex trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and significant life changes.
Jeremy’s approach is grounded in the belief that healing involves a combination of confronting pain and rediscovering meaning and connection in a world that may feel shattered. He values therapy that is collaborative, balancing his training with your expertise of your own life, to find the best path forward for you. Through your work, he hopes to help you navigate grief and loss, balance the pain and the joy, and create meaning and purpose, even in the face of great loss. To this end, Jeremy often pulls from psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, existential therapy, and person-centered therapy in his work.
