Kristin Mravinec
Kristin Mravinec has dedicated the last 21 years in support of grieving children, spending the last 10 years as a volunteer with Full Circle, helping in HOH groups and other various roles. Following her mother’s passing in 2003, she became an active volunteer with the Highmark Caring Place in Pittsburgh, PA, where she found a great sense of purpose in helping children navigate the messy grief journey, profoundly inspired by their bravery and resilience. Before moving to Richmond, she spent 10 years with the organization, facilitating children’s grief groups of all ages, raising awareness for the cause, coordinating events, and even contributed to the initiative that launched National Children’s Grief Awareness Day.
A self-described “IT nerd,” Kristin fell in love with computers and technology as a child, and began her career as a developer, writing code to support the Finance and HR applications of a Fortune 500 company in Pittsburgh. She accepted a role as a People Analytics specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and relocated to the Richmond area in June 2014 (connecting with Full Circle that same month!). After nearly a decade with the Fed, Kristin left to become the first Senior Manager of People Analytics at a global healthcare technology company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
In addition to grieving children, Kristin dedicates a significant amount of time to animal rescue, volunteering with the Humane Society of the United States, the Richmond Animal League, and six other dog rescues across Virginia. In addition to her two resident dogs, Promise and Blossom, and her cat, Hemingway, her North Chesterfield home is a revolving door of foster dogs, from tiny 7-week-old Labrador Retriever puppies to distinguished senior Great Danes, and everything in between. In her remaining free time, Kristin enjoys traveling, hiking along the Appalachian trail, and scuba diving in crystal clear waters as often as she can.
