Sarah Mayfield, MEd, NCC, CT

Family Bereavement Services Manager

Resident in Counseling

Sarah has both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Counselor Education from the University of Virginia.  She has completed post-graduate counseling coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University and has been a Nationally Certified Counselor since 2007. Sarah is a Compassionate Bereavement Care™ Certified Provider and is Certified in Thanatology (Association for Death Education and Counseling).

Professionally, Sarah worked as a school counselor for nine years in both public and private school settings. Personally, she and her family participated in Full Circle’s Hands on Healing and Pregnancy after Loss Groups after the death of her son, Elliot.

It is the combination of these professional and personal experiences that fuel Sarah’s passion for working with bereaved children and families.

Sarah finds joy in upcycling forsaken furniture, getting lost in the plants (and weeds) of her yard, dancing unapologetically in the kitchen with her husband and kids, and remembering the motto: “Love Never Fails.”
